About RUNIME

RUNIME is an independently implemented anime discovery and streaming-interface platform. It was built by observing the publicly visible behaviour of an existing anime site and reproducing the useful interaction patterns with its own architecture and code.

Design principles

  • Remote-first data. Catalog metadata is requested on demand from authorized public APIs. RUNIME does not keep a local copy of the catalog, cover images, or media files.
  • Provider abstraction. Metadata and playback logic live behind adapter interfaces, so a provider can be swapped without rewriting the UI.
  • Multi-source playback. Each episode can expose several playback configurations at different qualities. Switching sources never changes the episode.
  • Honest states. Unsupported, restricted, or failed sources are shown as such instead of being silently hidden or faked.
  • Minimal storage. Only UI preferences, recently watched identifiers, and playback positions are persisted locally.

Legal boundaries

RUNIME does not host video files, does not proxy arbitrary third-party media, and does not circumvent DRM, authentication, rate limits, or other access controls. Playback sources are provided by third parties under their own terms, and the application links out to the original provider where an integration is not permitted.
